Aberystwyth University are pleased to announce the opening of the first Subthalamic Nucleus Segmentation Challenge 2015.  This challenge workshop is being organised by Aberystwyth University and Renishaw plc.  The purpose of the challenge is to invite medical imaging researchers to tackle the difficult task of subthalamic nucleus segmentation in MRI volumes.  The challenge will result in a workshop being held at the end of the year and also all submissions will be consolidated into a high-impact journal paper.

MIVS 2014 was a free to attend event held at Ysybty Gwynedd (Bangor), Heath Park Campus (Cardiff) and Morriston Hospital (Swansea) to showcase some of the exciting project work which is currently being carried out by the unit.

The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the our research, to promote the free services available to clinicians in Wales and to develop and explore further collaboration opportunities.

Medical specialists from all areas of expertise came to visit the roadshow. The event involved a series of hands on demonstrations that ran throughout day by our team of researchers.
